Writer/Creative Director
I've been helping brands figure out what to say and how to say it for 26 years. I love what I do and have at least another 26 years in me.
I can find solutions quickly, even on briefs that others might find excruciating. It helps that I don't believe there's any such thing as a boring brief. Whenever I hear someone complain about a "boring brief," I think of this great line of Flaubert's: "Anything becomes interesting if you look at it long enough."
I'm as much of a strategic partner as an executor because I've spent years collaborating on creative briefs with senior planners and digging into brands' core values and missions with their CEOs and founders.
My range of styles and experience is extraordinarily broad. I can write comedy for consumer brands all day, but I can also tackle complex B2B tech assignments, nuanced communications for highly regulated industries like investment banking or pharmaceuticals, and demanding briefs for tough audiences like government agencies or corporate consultancies. I love to create voices for brands when they're starting from scratch and I'm ready to adapt like a chameleon if they already have one established. I've written for every medium under the sun–not just TV, websites, and social, but sales decks, investor decks, RFP submissions, delivery trucks, billboards, direct mail, coffee sleeves, gas pumps, bookmarks, and even lines for socks and the bottoms of swimming pools. I can deliver any style you need–broad humor, esoteric humor, cheeky humor, folksy, introspective, authoritative, heartfelt–just give me a few thoughtfully chosen adjectives.
When I'm not creating for clients, I create for myself. I like making animated shorts and sold one series to Comedy Central. I like making street art. You may have seen some of it–one piece made headlines in 11 languages, and another was featured on Jimmy Kimmel's show.
All of this might sound improbable or come across as vainglorious, but as Dizzy Dean said, "It ain't braggin' if you really done it."
